Un Nome che fa da stendardo ad una filosofia che ,prima di trasformarsi in estetica e quindi in arte, è l’essenza di uno stile di vita: quella di ARTCOCK è una presenza determinata da un costante interagire tra tecnica, ironia e ricerca storica.ARTCOCK, nasce nel 2006, le quattro menti che oggi compongono questa squadra sono: Federico Maria Tribbioli, Niccolò Berretta, Filippo Silli, Maurizio Montesi e con l’aggiunta di Matteo Keffer si occupano di fotografia e video alternandosi.

Nei primissimi lavori era predominante la fotografia, ma quasi nell’immediato è stato affiancato il video, che ad oggi è sempre presente, sia come supporto principale nella realizzazione di un video clip o di un cortometraggio, che per riprendere il work in progress e l’opera terminata. Agendo in questo modo ARTCOCK sta dando forma ad uno strepitoso archivio, che racconta passo per passo tutta la loro produzione e tutto quello che c’è dietro ad un lavoro articolato e complesso, dove convivono costruzione stilistica e autentica spontaneità. Questa formula contraddittoria sembrerebbe irraggiungibile, ma gli ARTCOCK, con i loro strumenti, le loro idee e lo spirito che li contraddistingue, creano un’armonia che vive proprio grazie ad una melodia stonata, che tende a sottolineare la coesistenza del passato nel presente e viceversa.Quindi la fotografia come tableaux vivant e il video con la sua doppia funzione di documentazione e opera d’arte.Le loro ricerche sui costumi e sulla storia prendono forma dalla tradizione artistica nazionale ed internazionale e dalle composizioni pittoriche di artisti celebri, vissuti in epoche remote, come il Caravaggio, per poter approdare ad una nuova identità, convalidata dagli elementi che riassumono tracce innegabili del nostro presente. Il lavoro che c’è dietro ad uno scatto è realmente complesso: ricostruire un’opera d’arte con persone vive, ma farlo come se fosse un quadro. Non si può restare indifferenti alla naturalezza statica che si rintraccia nella spinta formale di un gesto che, pur se fermo, non appare bloccato, rigido.Nella loro poetica è di fondamentale importanza l’elogio dell’Errore, trattato come vera e propria virtù, il lato più umano dell’essere umano. All’interno dei quadri l’Errore è spesso racchiuso negli elementi finti, un voler appositamente sbagliare nel riferimento, poiché non si tratta mai di una riproduzione, ma sempre di una rivisitazione in grande stile e con la presenza di strumenti ed iconografie urbane contemporanee.Le ricerche che ARTCOCK conduce quando si trova a dare forma ad una nuova produzione, nascono inesorabilmente dalla necessità di sottolineare uno stato d’animo, un modo di essere e di intervenire nel tessuto sociale, con una attenta riflessione sulle tradizioni e le culture che di volta in volta attraversano la loro espressione.Le immagini su poster sono stampate con plotter, viste le dimensioni, che si avvalgono di un minimo di tre metri per due. L’incontro con discipline e luoghi che spaziano dalla strada, al teatro, al museo, affiancando diversi linguaggi, conferma che è vero quello che gli ARTCOCK dicono, ossia che i loro interventi sono riconoscibili attraverso l’essenza che resta di tutto il lavoro che tante personalità diverse hanno costruito insieme; questo è ben rintracciabile anche nei video che riprendono il work in progress, costituendo il prezioso archivio che documenta ogni loro intervento.

ARTCOCK is a name that is the banner of a philosophy that, before turning into aesthetic and then art, first of all is the essence of a lifestyle: the ARTCOCK presence is determined by a constant interaction between technique, irony, and historical research.
The ARTCOCK Project began in 2006.The group was founded by Federico Maria Tribbioli, Niccolò Berretta, Filippo Silli and was then extended with the addition of Maurizio Montesi and Matteo Keffer.

In the first works of the collective photography was the leading element; but soon they took an interest in video-making too, and from then on this has been an important part of their work, as primary support in the making of videoclips or short films and to shoot the work-in-progress videos and the opera once it was completed. In this way ARTCOCK is now creating an amazing archive, that reports step by step their output and everything that can be found behind a elaborated and articulated work, where stylistic setting-up and genuine spontaneity coexist.
This conflicting formula may seem unachievable, but the ARTCOCK members with their tools, their ideas and the spirit that distinguish them, can create an harmony that lives thanks to this false melody, which aims to underline the coexistence between past and present and vice versa.
So: photography as tableaux vivant and video-making with its double function of documentation and work of art.
Their research on costumes and history is inspired by the national and international artistic tradition and by the masterpieces of renowned artists of the past like Caravaggio; the aim is to come to a new identity which is confirmed by elements that acquire undeniable traces in our present. The work behind a single shot is really complex: to recreate a work of art with living people but do it as if it was a painting.
In their poetic the Praise of Mistakes is of vital importance, seen as sheer virtue, the most human aspect of the human being.
In ARTCOCK works the Mistake can often be found in the fake elements of the opera, given that we are not talking about reproductions, this is all about great reviews of masterpieces with a strong presence of urban contemporary tools and iconographies.
ARTCOCK’s researches originate from the necessity to underline a mood, a way to intervene into the social fabric, with a careful reflexion on the traditions and cultures that, time after time, meet their expression.
The images on posters are printed with plotters and have a minimum size of 3 metres for 2. The meeting with places that sweep from the street to a theatre or a museum just confirm what the ARTCOCKS say: their works are recognizable by the essence that is left by the work that many personalities have realized together; this can be seen also in the work-in-progress videos that constitute the important archive which is itself a mark of every work they’ve made.
